Biography

Born in 1945 in Kashgar, Ahmat Tursun began learning the Twelve Muqam from his father at age eight. Over five decades, he has mastered all twelve suites and become one of Xinjiang's most respected Muqam performers. He has trained more than 200 students and participated in numerous national and international cultural exchange programs.
